The 1980 Formula One season was the 31st season of Formula One. Reigning Constructor's Champions Williams entered the season with an unchanged line-up of World Champion Alan Jones and Gilles Villeneuve, and looked to have the car to beat with the FW08. Challenge would come in the early part of the season from Nelson Piquet who, now in his second full-time season of Formula One, remained with Brabham and took victory in two out of the first three races.
