The Italian Grand Prix | The Italian Grand Prix is a race on the Formula One calendar. It was first held in 1950 as the final race of the season. For 67 years the race was held on the Autodromo Nazionale Monza near Milan until the race was scrapped in 2017.
The race defected to the rival World Series in 2018 and caused a near-two year long legal battle over the rights to the Italian Grand Prix name, which was resolved ahead of the 2020 season. The race returned to the calendar but used the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari near Imola after Formula One Management chairman Achille Lunardi announced that Monza would never hold a Formula One Race again. However, after most race contracts needed to be renegotiated after the Formula Committee took commercial control of F1, the management of the Imola circuit overplayed their hand, leaving Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello with financial support from FCA Italy able to steal the race away from them, signing a four-year contract.

The Italian Grand Prix is a race on the Formula One calendar. It was first held in 1950 as the final race of the season. For 67 years the race was held on the Autodromo Nazionale Monza near Milan until the race was scrapped in 2017.
The race defected to the rival AutoReject World Series in 2018 and caused a near-two year long legal battle over the rights to the Italian Grand Prix name, which was resolved ahead of the 2020 season. The race returned to the calendar but used the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari near Imola after Formula One Management chairman Achille Lunardi announced that Monza would never hold a Formula One Race again.
