Entry List
Notes
- 1 Due to the FIA not deeming them to have properly purchased the former Fondmetal team's entry, Andrea Moda were excluded from both the South African and Brazilian Grands Prix.
- 2 After failing to qualify for the South African Grand Prix by over 4 seconds Giovanna Amati was sacked by Brabham and replaced by 1991 McLaren test driver Roberto Moreno.
- 3 Roberto Guerrero's sponsors failed to pay the March team and he was replaced by Kazuki Fushida for the Pacific Grand Prix.
- 4 Jon Beekhuis replaced Kazuki Fushida after the Pacific Grand Prix as the Japanese driver was only paid to drive for his home race.
- 5 After failing to qualify for the Spanish Grand Prix, Isabella Noriko was replaced by Arie Luyendyk, the Dutchman being replaced at March by Kazuki Fushida.
- 6 The Brabham team failed to pay Roberto Moreno so he left the team after the Monaco Grand Prix and was replaced by Canadian rookie Paul Tracy.
- 7 Andrea Moda failed to participate in either the Canadian or French Grands Prix; the former due to failing to pay Judd for engines and their subsequent withholding and the latter due to the team being caught up in a blockade caused by French truck drivers.
- 8 Jon Beekhuis was replaced by Willy T. Ribbs for the Canadian Grand Prix in a publicity stunt.
