Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited is a British motor racing team and constructor currently racing in Formula One. The team was formed by Sir Frank Williams in the late 1970s and is one of the most successful Formula One constructors of all time, winning its last Drivers' and Constructors' Championships in 2016. As a result of financial problems and a downturn in the team's performances, in December 2018 the team was sold to an Italian-German investment holding. The team would be sold yet again in January of 2021 to a consortium led by former world champion and FOM chairman Jacques Villeneuve, who would become team principal from then onwards.
Italian outfit Scuderia Adriatica, whose team principal Marco Benciani held a 5% share in the controlling holding, formerly raced under the Williams Junior Team banner in Eurasian Formula 3. Other than that and a technical agreement, there was no further connection between the two entities. The two outfits would cease to be involved with one another after the team's second selling.
