The British Grand Prix is currently a race on the Formula One calendar. It was an original race on the first World Championship calendar in 1950 and was held on the Silverstone Circuit - where it would remain for much of the early years.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the race would swap between Silverstone and Brands Hatch before making a more permanent home in Northamptonshire in the 1990s. However, in the late 2000s, Donington Park in Leicestershire would steal the British GP away from Silverstone - where it remains to this day.
Such is the popularity of Grand Prix racing in the United Kingdom, the country has also hosted other Grands Prix such as the European Grand Prix, the English Grand Prix and the Scottish Grand Prix as well as many non-championship races and a short-lived British Formula One Championship.
