The 2016 Formula 1 Rejects World Race Series season will be the seventh season of the F1RWRS. It will also include the F1RWRS' 100th race.

- DGNgineering announced that they would be leaving F1RWRS to form a team in F1
Drivers
New drivers
- Kamaha have signed current RoLFS leader Nathan McKane and current F2RWRS driver Tomo Kazama.
- Tropico have signed current F2RWRS driver Alberto Cara.
Retirements
- Barii Mori, announced his retirement but has been entered as a reserve driver for Kamaha.
- Sammy Jones retired after the 2015 Italian GP.
- Saeed Al Faisal after being the only driver so far to qualify the Simpson car was offered a year contract. However he is still undecided.
- John Zimmer, and David Koczo will retire at the end of 2015.
- Free agents, Darren Older Jr, Jack Christopherson have not announced their retirements from F1RWRS but their ages mean they are unlikely to get a seat.
Unsigned drivers
- David Neuberg has not currently signed with Kingfisher and may get signed by HRT.
- James Davies has not currently signed with Sunshine but is expected to do so.
- Nicolas Steele was fired by Kamaha and is driving for DGN but has not been signed for the 2016 season. Arrowtech have expresed interest.
- Tomislaw Tajner is unlikely to be resigned by Dofasco and looks likely to leave the series at the end of the season.
- Markus Van de Schoot is unlikely to be resigned by Dofasco and looks likely to leave the series at the end of the season.
- Dave Simpson would like to retire, but is looking for decent drivers for Simpson.
- Jesus Plaza has interest from Arrowtech and other teams.
- Gia Van Dycke is a free agent but looks unlikely to be signed for 2016.
- Phil McCracken is a free agent but looks very unlikely to be signed for 2016.
- Sebastian Groves is a free agent but looks like signing again as a reserve driver for 2016.
- Daniel Melrose is likely to retire from F1RWRS to go to state side.
- Du Lei is currently racing for Kamaha and has been impressive, however has no interest from teams so far and was dropped by Prospec as their third driver.
- Jean-Luc Schiller is without a contract at any team, but several have expressed an interest including Dofasco and Autodynamics.

The provisonal calendar was annouced on the 15 September with the biggest one being the Tasman Grand Prix and the 100th race being at Spa.
