Daniel Martins (born 12 May, 1986 in Porto, Portugal) is a Portuguese racing driver known for his career in the F1RWRS and its successor the ARWS, where he currently drives for Peak Aeroracing Engineering. As well as being the only Portuguese driver to have raced in the championship to date, Martins is one of the championship's most experienced drivers with the ninth-highest number of race entries for a driver. He has scored five career podiums, his best result being second place at the high-attrition 2012 Australian Grand Prix.
Martins also holds some of the highest stats for not having won a race. He has contested the third-highest number of races without a victory, the fourth highest number of podiums with making it to the top step, and the fourth highest number of points without a win. In addition, Martins jointly holds the record for most seventh place finishes in the championship with Frank Zimmer and Sammy Jones, with seven in total.
During his time in the series Martins has spent three seasons at both his first team ArrowTech and also at Sunshine Daihatsu. He was hired by Sunshine to replace Shinobu Katayama who had left the team over its poor performances. Initially just a temporary appointment, Martins was eventually handed the drive on a full-time basis, and remained with the Sunshine team until it folded at the end of the 2017 season.
With Aeroracing under new ownership in 2018, Martins was drafted in at the third race of the year after initially being left on the sidelines after Sunshine's demise. Hired as a safe pair of hands as the Peak Motorsport Group struggled to get their newly-purchased team competitive, Martins replaced the outgoing Renaldo Jiménez.
