Report:

After yesterday’s defeat the only thing on Vettel’s mind was: who is gonna run this town tonight? The answer is obvious, it is Sebastian Vettel. The German controlled Sunday’s race and was cheered by German fans as he managed to score his 14th point finish, his 4th pole, his 8th fastest lap of the race and his 6th win of the season in a masterful drive, bringing him yet another step closer to his first F1 championship.

The only driver in the field who even pretended to put the pressure on Vettel was his former Red Bull teammate Sébastien Bourdais. However, his challenge was only of limited duration, Vettel simply overpowered the French Ferrari driver. That spells bad news for the title hopes of all drivers on the grid, unless their name is of course Sebastian Vettel. Bourdais was therefore little pleased with his second place either.

Another guy who could not have been much happier on the podium was Pastor Maldonado: Sauber have seriously struggled in recent weeks and are in dire need of success, now that Haas-Ferrari have picked up their game and look likely to challenge them for the valueable 5th place in the WCC. Pastor Maldonado went about his job in a surprisingly calm manner, grabbing a race trophy in the process.

Further down the road, Williams’ misery continues, as Cassidy failed to beat Kubica in the closing stages and Will Power made a mistake that would end up with him outside of the points and then failed to convert when given a last-minute chance to aquire 10th from Davide Valsecchi, who is giving Valerian a little boost, a boost they so sorely need after having struggled to properly compete the last few races.
