Report:

In a strange lack of common sense, Jules Bianchi endangered competitors by not pulling his terminally-damaged car to the side.
After the debacle that was the 2021 Marlboro Pilipinas Grand Prix, the FASC had a lot to make up for. With the weather playing along, the second race in China was bound to be a success and it turned out to be one: at the very least for Ferrari.

Victoria Desai joined the elite club of drivers who won their first Grand Prix in their rookie year. Of course, such a feat should be expected of any rookie honored with driving for Scuderia Ferrari in their very first year.

Other teams also had good moments: Caterham survived a nasty moment for Norris in the race and a poor qualifying effort from Vettel to add 13 points to their championship total; Precision turned their 1-2 into a double-points finish.

Seven cars failed to finish the race. One of those was Jules Bianchi, who earned himself the ire of British Formula One fans by not pulling his broken car over. Roger Ibe was left heartbroken over his “home” retirement.

Fastest Lap:

Pastor Maldonado – 1:22.607

Infinite Improbability Drive Of The Race:

Caterham-Judd – came back from a mediocre qualifying to score a metric ton of points.

Reject Of The Race:

Jules Bianchi – a veteran like him should know better how to deal with a broken car.
