Report:

Once more it was Ferrari that looked like the team to beat, after they secured a second 1-2 in qualifying. It was, however, quickly down to Bourdais alone to earn glory: an early accident after a bad start ended Nathan McKane’s race after merely two turns. However, Bourdais did deliver and managed to secure his second win of the season after an excellent performance.

Behind SebastiƩn Bourdais, Daniil Kvyat and Valterri Bottas fought a hard battle over second. Normally, in a fight over second place, Bottas is the man to bet your money on. However, this time it was Caterham, who managed to conquer the Finn and secure second place. This is crucial for the WCC aspirations of Caterham-Judd, since Vettel did not manage to go higher than 4th place.

Another positive race for Haas-Ferrari, they seem to have gotten things under control again, after a bad start to the season had created rumours of Gene Haas abandoning F1 after merely two seasons. Another driver with a good run was Romain Grosjean, he had a questionable first third of the race: however, an almost legendary second stint gave him a shot at points and despite losing a healthy bunch of places, he still scored big.

Williams-Peugeot had a better run than yesterday, they secured a 6th and a 10th place. Obviously, they won’t be pleased with that, though. Other teams that will be disappointed are Sauber, who suffered an engine failure and had Maldonado making silly mistakes virtually all day long, and Red Bull, who suffered through driver errors by and at the expense of Fernando Alonso and had Pierre Gasly come up short of the points, only finishing 11th.
