Report:

The Eifel is well known in motorsport circles as an environment where the weather can change on a dime. This afternoon proved no different, as the drivers were challenged by occasional drizzle, causing a slippery race without enough wetness to use wet tyres.

Many drivers were taken out by this situation, including stars and world champions like Sebastian Vettel and Pastor Maldonado. However, other drivers prevailed like the Toyota drivers and Alexander Albon, who scored very valuable points for their teams.

At the top of the charts, the Precision stars continued their battle. Jules Bianchi lost out to Torrente and super-starter Dean Stoneman through the first corners, but hung with the Spaniard until provoking him into a race-ending mistake, securing the win for himself.

P2 in the WCC was given to Red Bull when Lando Norris made a rookie mistake in the final laps, leaving Caterham with no points and Daniel Melrose with his second second place in a row. This success also promotes him to second in the driver’s championship.
