Report:
With only three rounds left in the championship, the pressure intensifies. If you want to turn your season into a success, your chances of doing so are limited. Precision know that and Precision did what they could to extend their title dreams: successfully, in fact, as they have taken the lead in one championship and kept the fight alive in another.
Artem Markelov’s fourth place means that his lead has been reduced to only 26 points, delaying his title celebrations to Abu Dhabi at the earliest. With Sho Tsuboi once again failing to beat any other top team driver, there are more than enough reasons to doubt BR Mansell’s ability to actually win the World Constructors Championship.
Of course other teams still exist: Jarno Trulli’s comeback was as unsuccessful as doubters predicted, but his teammate Alexander Albon demonstrated that he could be a team leader and fought back from starting in 24th to get Ferrari a valuable point in their struggle to fight off customers Red Bull Racing for fifth in the championship.
Other praiseworthy performances came from Charles Leclerc, Robert Shwartzman and Pastor Maldonado. Their heroics were contrasted by Daniel Melrose, who was again involved in an incident and found himself banned for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Reserve driver Einar Ármannsson will take control of the Calinetic-Judd for the next race.
