Tropico Grand Prix, commonly known as Tropico, is a Formula 1 Rejects World Race Series team from the island state of the same name. The team was formed when a German council, under direct command from the country's leader, El Presidente, acquired the assets of the struggling CR Motorsport team at the close of the 2013 F1RWRS season. Danny van Rijkens and Jean-Luc Schiller are the current two drivers for Tropico for the 2015 season of the F1RWRS.

F1RWRS

For 2014, the Tropico TGP001 car was very undeveloped, and was regarded as the worst car on the grid. Neither of Tropico's drivers made it out of pre-qualifying all year, a dubious honour they shared with fellow strugglers Revolution for 2014. Starting the year off with Darren Older Jr and Miko Fäkkinen as the team's drivers, both of whom were paying for their seats, at the German GP, Older Jr left for the newly formed Scuderia Alitalia which had taken over the Trueba team. He was replaced with fellow pay driver Leonhard Von Gottorp, who became the oldest driver to enter an F1RWRS race at the age of 73. Tragically however, Von Gottorp passed away after pre-qualifying in Shanghai and was replaced by Rejects of LFS driver Markus Van De Schoot for the final race of the season in Japan, where unsurprisingly, he failed to qualify. The year was a write-off as far as everyone involved with Tropico was concerned, but the funds secured by running pay drivers all season were put to good use in developing a new car for 2015.

The investment would prove to be a good one, with Older Jr returning to the team having been dumped by Alitalia at the end of the season, he partnered the newly hired Nathan Scott who had been without a drive since he was dropped from the front-running DGNgineering team for under-performing after just four races into 2014. The brand new TGP002 car for the 2015 season was powered by an exclusive supply of Gillet's GV10 engines and overall the package was a massive improvement on the previous season's efforts. From the first race at Adelaide, both cars easily progressed through pre-qualifying as the fastest team, and whilst Scott retired with an oil leak, Older Jr went the full distance, thereby finishing Tropico's first ever race in 12th position, two laps down. That alone was enough to get the Tropico team through the rest of the season, but there was a distinct feeling that better was to come. Sadly, reality was not as convincing, despite being more competitive, results were still lacking. This caused another switch to pay-drivers, Danny van Rijkens was brought in to replace the veteran Darren Older Jr. and Jean-Luc Schiller replaced Nathan Scott. At the end of the 2015 F1RWRS Chinese Grand Prix, van Rijkens managed to finish sixth, finally scoring Tropico's first points.

Things however fell apart quickly just before the start of the 2016 season; the team attempted to sign Barii Mori despite the government's insistence against. Eventually the Tropican government broke ties with the team and the team reverted back to the CR name, now led by wrestler John Laurinaitis and his People Power brand.

F3RWRS

Tropico Grand Prix also ran an F3RWRS team for the 2014 Surfers SuperPrix, entitled the Tropico F3RWRS Council. The one-car effort achieved a successful fifth place finish in its only outing at the hand of Joel Melrose.
