Jean-Luc Schiller
Jean-Luc Schiller (born 28 September 1987 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss racing driver currently driving for MRT in the Formula 1 Rejects World Race Series. Schiller was brought into the series by Prospec after three races of the 2014 season, replacing Dave Simpson, who left the team by mutual consent after the Brazilian Grand Prix. Schiller brought with him valuable cash for the floundering a team, a shadow of its once mighty self, and scored Prospec's first points of the year with a 6th place finish at the Italian Grand Prix.
From there, Schiller switched to Mecha Grand Prix for the 2015 season but the Indonesian team struggled with pre-qualifying and Jean-Luc qualified only twice in eleven races before leaving to join Tropico Grand Prix. Tropico had enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in 2015 having been one of the slowest on the grid in their debut a year previously having taken over the CR Motorsport team. In complete contrast to his time at Mecha, Schiller started all of the remaining five races of the season, making it to the finish twice, with a best result of eighth place in Japan.
Requiring an injection of money to fund a series of upgrades, Autodynamics Grand Prix signed Schiller for 2016 and the Swiss driver's money was immediately felt with the Australian team having a sensational start to the year. Schiller finished in a superb third place at the season-opening Australian GP, his and the team's best ever result. After failing to pre-qualify at the following race at Bathurst though, Schiller was tempted away from Autodynamics to join reigning champions MRT and partner triple champion Mark Dagnall. In what was one of the best cars on the grid, Jean-Luc was at the forefront of the grid, but reliability woes plagued the team, with Schiller only making the finish on two occasions over the year. Despite that though, one of those finishes proved to be an amazing first career win for Schiller, winning the Austrian GP. His form, as well as his money, earned him another year at MRT where he would be partnered with another paid driver, Fredo Mestolio, as MRT looked to recover their position at the head of the field in 2017.
