The RoLFS season had been marred by the death of Nobushige Fukuda at the penultimate race of the season, an event that ultimately led to the dissolving of RoLFS completely and the creation of a completely new series called the International Formula Reject Challenge. This put the future of Aston 24 Hours in doubt before even the first running of it had taken place.
The race was won by Aero Kings Racing, who fielded George Bruno, Marco Bizzarri, and Calvin Brooks as their drivers. During the race, three cars were disqualified for various infringements - Jones Racing's and Ural Racing's cars for ignoring separate stop-and-go penalties, an error commonly seen during the regular season, and the Winton Racing's car for running a damaged car which ultimately caused multiple collisions.
Entry list
The entry list was capped at 20 entrants, with each team required to have three drivers to share the driving duties. The teams chose their cars from three powerful GTR touring cars, with each model limited to supply a maximum of seven teams.
