Report:

Luiz Razia made the most of his opportunities and scored his first podium.

With both titles decided, there are still six races to go this season: Team Peugeot have realised that and have introduced a last major upgrade. Some rumours in the paddock say the team is trying to score a few glory results to prevent the company in charge of paying their bill from pulling the plug. if this race is an indication, it may very well impress some board members.

Peugeot managed to get both cars into Q3 in the first race of this weekend, a great success for the French team. Romain Grosjean then proceeded to crown that achievement by finishing the session in third, behind the untouchable Caterhams who proved even more untouchable at the hands of Sebastian Vettel, who managed the only sub-90-second lap this track has ever seen.

From the start, it was all Vettel, who proceeded to quickly established himself as the man to beat. To nobody’s surprise nobody managed to step up, not helped by the silly race-ending driver errors commited by both Daniil Kvyat and Pastor Maldonado in the early stages of this race, and Vettel took yet another win. Behind them, it got interesting as soon as Romain Grosjean joined the list of retirements.

Luiz Razia was flushed to second by a great run and the abovementioned retirements and was able to secure his position at the start of his final stint, going on to secure his first podium in Formula 1. Jules Bianchi, on the other hand, did have to work very hard for his podium. Johnny Cecotto, Jr. in the Haas, looking for another podium finish for Haas, managed to put the pressure on the French star, who managed to prevail and secure third.
