Report:

When Caterham had their drivers battle for position, they did not expect it to be for eighth place.

Two British heroes are active in Formula One: Lewis Hamilton and Dean Stoneman are following the path of former classic British drivers like Stirling Moss and Peter Collins, keeping the British legacy of racing healthy.

However, the first British GP of 2019 was not kind to them. Heavy rain in qualifying and miscalculations by their teams forced them to start lower than tenth. Despite a drying track, they were unable to advance much.

Things looked different for Pascal Wehrlein, who got flushed to second place on the grid and managed to hold on to seventh despite an inferior car. Comparisons to Daniel Melrose’s amazing pole last year were drawn.

Speaking of Melrose’s pole, his team at that time performed brilliantly. Holden were great in qualifying and carried that performance over to the actual main event. Alex Albon even achieved his career highlight of fourth.
