Phil McCracken
Phil McCracken (born 28/07/1981 in Govan, Glasgow) is a Scottish racing driver, who has competed in various series such as F1RWRS, F2RWRS, F1RICS and the former F1 Rejects LFS Cup. McCracken is known for being chronically slow and useless at the wheel of a racing car, and prone to outbursts of profanity and violence when anyone points out his complete ineptitude to racing.
History
F1 Rejects LFS Cup
McCracken started his reject racing career at Virgin Inter Corse's F1 Rejects LFS team. While team-mate Todd Cockburn was beyond useless most of the time in the lead car, McCraken did a surprisingly good job, even winning a race during the season. But, too many bad races meant he couldn't quite take the title, but second place was a good effort for his debut season.
F1RWRS
He returned to the scene with Virgin Inter Corse in 2013, competing in that's years F1RWRS championship. It was something of a disaster - a poorly managed team, a poor chassis and poor engine meant he failed to pass pre-qualifying once in sixteen attempts that year. Virgin Inter Corse's F1RWRS team folded at the end of the season, leaving him without a drive.
In early 2017, it was announced that McCracken would be the test driver of Rob Lomas Racing in their F1RWRS debut season.
F2RWRS
The following season, Virgin Inter Corse attempted to enter the feeder series of F2RWRS, with McCracken as one of the drivers. Their bid failed however, and soon the entire team went into administration after accumulating huge debts.
Scuderia Alitalia stepped in and bought the team, but still with no F2RWRS entry, he was instead sent out on loan to Kit-Kat Warriors to brush up on his skills. Once again, disaster ensued. His qualifying pace was the worst on the grid, and couldn't finish a race without incident to save his own life. He was promptly fired by Scuderia Alitalia, and his place at Kit-Kat was taken by Dutch rookie Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen.
However, after Johannes Rueckert was served with a ban for the 2015 season opener, he was called up by Hydook Racing to replace the German driver. Later Niko Bellic faced problems with his F2RWRS licence and was forced to step down to F3RWRS, allowing McCracken to take his place in the Aeroracing Engineering team starting from the second race of the season. However, he retired from his first two races for the team, and when the team fell into prequalifying, he failed to clear it four times in a row. Despite being faster than team mate Tanner Jason in three of those four attempts, his age led to him being sacked after the German round.
F1 Rejects Indy Championship Series
With his age making him a persona non grata in the youth-driven RWRS-sanctioned series, McCracken turned his attention to America for the F1 Rejects Indy Championship Series, which had succesfully been launched in 2015. He was soon signed by Michael Bright Racing for the 2016 season. However, he only managed to qualify once in 24 races, at Pocono where his race ended on lap 75.
F1 Rejects Masters
After briefly falling off the racing radar, McCracken was going to make a return in the F1 Rejects Masters, thanks to his second place championship finish in the LFS Cup. Along with other legends of reject racing such as HWNSNBM and Chris Dagnall, McCracken would've raced the #10 McEwans Lager Chevrolet Impala. However, the series never took off and when the franchise was restarted by Australian investors, McCracken was not invited to take part.
