He later drove for various teams, including for Johnny Claes, Motorsport Bleu, O.S.C.A., Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Voeckler and Gordini, usually without much success. 1952 was an exception to that rule, when Motorsport Bleu won the entrants' championship, helped by Simon's unexpected victory at Monaco.
