Troy Ruttman (born 11 March 1930 in Mooreland, died 19 May 1997 in Lake Havasu City) was an American racing driver. He started his racing career at age 15, and by 1949, he was competing in the AAA championship, where he would stay for 15 years, winning three race, including the Indianapolis 500 twice. As a result, he finished second in the 1952 AAA championship. Ruttman was also one of the first Americans to regularly compete in the Formula One world championship, along with Mauri Rose and Tony Bettenhausen. His win at the 1951 Indianapolis 500 made him the youngest ever winner and fastest lap scorer at the time, and his win and fastest lap at the 1952 Dutch Grand Prix earned him those same records for European races. Later competing for Ferrari and O.S.C.A., he scored fifth place in the 1956 Italian Grand Prix despite crashing out just two laps from the end.
