Peter Whitehead (born 12 November 1914 in Menston, died 21 September 1958 in Lasalle, France) was a British racing driver who competed in Formula 1 from 1950 onwards. The winner of the 1951 24 Hours of Le Mans, Whitehead is notable for having driven for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Scuderia Anglo-Italia, scoring six podiums in the process and finishing fifth in the championship in 1952. He died when his car fell 30 ft. down a ravine during the 1958 Tour de France automobile. He was 43.
