Hesketh were an English race team founded by Lord Hesketh in 1972, and which competed in Formula One from 1973 until the 1980's. The team were most notable for running a sponsorless, self-built car competitively for notorious playboy James Hunt, but after his (and Lord Hesketh's) departure in late 1975 the team took a nosedive in fortunes, with financial issues plaguing the team's increasing futile attempts to qualify in its final years.
