Laura Wener
Laura Wener (born 9th March 1998 in Stratford, Great Britain) is a British racing driver who competed in the inaugral season of the F1 Rejects Development Series for Definitely Maybe Racing. She will be racing for Team Polaris International in the FIA F3 in 2019.
2015 - F1RDS
Wener signed with Manchester-based Definitely Maybe Racing to compete in the inaugral season of the F1RDS. She first took part in the 2015 F1RDS Winter Cup, ending up 14th with a best race finish of 5th. In the season proper, her first points finish came in the San Marino sprint race, with 7th place. Further points came at the French round, with 9th place in the feature race. Wener was on for a podium finish during the Czech feature race when, cruelly, her engine failed with 3 laps to go. However, in the sprint round, she fought her way up the field to finish 4th. A few more points finishes were to come later, until the Dutch sprint race. Here, Wener qualified a career-best 4th, and at the start found herself leading the race, a lead she was not to relinquish. She headed home a DMR 1-2, with team mate Jerry De Boer finishing 2nd. Wener eventually finished 14th in the championship, with 6 points finishes and 41 points in total. Her 'burn from the stern' performances, where Wener would recover from a low grid position to be fighting for points by the end of races earned her many plaudits from analysts, although some noted that if she was to qualify higher up the field, she would likely have doubled her points total.
2016 onwards - F3RWRS
After her first win, Wener was offered drives from F3RWRS teams ZimSport and West Cliff Racing, as well as another season with DMR in the RDS. After much deliberation, Wener accepted the West Cliff offer.
2017 - Mazzacane Motorsport
Wener drove for argentine team Mazzacane Motorsport in 2017, finishing the season in 29th place.
2018 - FIA F3 - FXS Racing
Wener drove for FXS Racing in 2018 FIA F3. Her best appearance was a 3rd place in Race 14. She also made the fastest lap in Korea Superprix, last race of the season.
2019 - Team Polaris International
To 2019 season, Wener was offered a drive from maltese Team Polaris International. She accepted.
