Giovanni Lurani
Giovanni "Johnny" Lurani Cernuschi (born 19 December 1905 in Cernusco Lombardone, died January 1995) was an Italian racing driver, engineer and journalist. A nobleman (he held the title of Count of Calvenzano), he started his racing career in the 1930s, particularly excelling in the Mille Miglia. He founded Scuderia Ambrosiana in 1937 with Luigi Villores and Franco Cortese, and although he ended his open-wheel career in 1938, he returned to single-seaters in 1951 and 1952, briefly competing for Ambrosiana, without success. Lurani went on to have success in motorsport organisation, being the creator of GT racing and Formula Junior.
