2017-: Precision & Red Bull

A long-term member of the Mercedes-Benz Junior programme, Ocon was named as TRILUX AMG Precision Motorsport's reserve driver for the 2017 season. Midway through the year, he was promoted to a race seat after the removal of regular driver Valtteri Bottas. Ocon took a best result of second in the Chinese Grand Prix.

Ocon remained in his position at Precision in 2018 and was called upon once when Jules Bianchi picked up an injury at the Cyprus Grand Prix. Ocon was then later loaned to fellow Mercedes-powered team Red Bull Racing for the second half of the season, replacing Josef Newgarden.

After a year in Formula E and Sportscars - Ocon returned to the Precision fold in 2020. Ocon was called upon once again in Cyprus when Diego Álvarez Torrente was excluded - and the Frenchman made the most of this opportunity when he took the flag for Precision's fourth win of the season.
