Herbert James "Jim" Russell (born 28th May, 1920 in Downham Market, Norfolk, died 30th March, 2019 in Suffolk) was a British former racing driver and racing school owner.

After serving in the RAF during the Second World War, Russell took over a garage in his hometown from where his future racing empire would eminate from. Russell began racing from the age of 32 at the nearby Snetterton racing circuit which saw him progress from Formula Three, Formula Two and eventually Formula One in 1956. Russell's first steps in F1 came with the Vandervell Products Ltd. team - who entered him in the British, Scottish and Italian Grands Prix. The following year, Russell raced with the Norfolk Racing team as well as Connaught. Russell joined the British Racing Partnership concern racing a Cooper in 1958 - with whom he'd take his first finish at the Dutch Grand Prix.
