Jacques Pollet

Jacques Victor Marie-Joseph Pollet (born 2 July 1922 in Roubaix, died 16 August 1997 in Paris) was a French racing driver. A Gordini man for most of his career, Pollet drove in several non-championship races and, with Theo Fitzau, was one of the first men to drive a Guidobaldi competitively. This led to his only championship appearance at the 1955 Italian Grand Prix, for which he failed to prequalify. Pollet is better known for winning the 1954 Tour de France automobile, and he retired from the sport in 1956 following his involvement in several fatal accidents.
