Theo Fitzau
Theodor Heinrich Fitzau (born 10 February 1923 in Köthen, died 18 March 1982 in Gross Gerau) was an East German racing driver and team owner. A Formula 2 driver in post-War East Germany, Fitzau experienced brief success in the early 1950s. He considered retirement in 1953, but when Formula 1 opened to the Eastern Bloc in 1955, he was contacted by Guidobaldi to compete in the Soviet Grand Prix. Making the team's sole race finish thanks to administrative quirks, the experience convinced him to launch his own team, MSG Köthen for 1956. He proved quick, but the O.S.C.A. was unreliable, and he retired at the end of the season to run the team full time.
