Gianni Morbidelli (born 13th January, 1968 in Pesaro, Italy) is an Italian racing driver best known for his appearances in Formula One.
Early career
In 1989, Morbidelli made his international racing debut in Formula 3000, driving for Forti Corse.
Formula One
In 1999, Morbidelli joined Gauloises Prost Peugeot alongside Stéphane Sarrazin. Morbidelli shocked the paddock at the French Grand Prix when he took an unexpected pole position in the wet at Magny-Cours. He finished the race in sixth, his only points finish of the season.
