Chris Amon

Christopher Arthur Amon MBE (born 20th July, 1943 in Bulls, New Zealand, died 3rd August, 2016 in Rotorua, New Zealand) was a New Zealander racing driver known for his appearances in Formula One.

Amon began his Formula One career in the early 1960s.

In 1976, Amon teamed up with Harald Ertl for the British Hesketh Racing team for the whole season. Neither he or Ertl were able to score points all season. Following the end of 1976, Amon announced he would retire from F1.

Following the conclusion of his F1 career, Amon would return to his homeland to work on his family's farm and become a presenter on New Zealand's Grand Prix television coverage. Amon died in 2016 after a short bout of cancer.
