Aurora Jade Summers (born 27 April 1996 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian racing driver. She is currently driving for Velocitas Racing in the AutoReject 3000 Series. Summers is the older sister of Dakota and Skye Summers.
Early career (2006-2018)
Summers' desire to race originated from playing a variety of racing games, such as Brendon Cassidy's World GP, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, and Driven. She began karting at ten years old for her father's team, Peak Motorsport Canada. Demonstrating speed, Summers progressed into car racing and stepped on the Road to Indy ladder, performing adequately in USF2000.
2019 season
Summers moved into the F3 Americas Championship for Peak Motorsport. Points were an infrequent occurrence for Summers, but she did score a second place at the first round of Mosport Park. She finished 16th with 21 points.
2020 season
Summers improved for the reworked 2020 season, becoming a regular points finisher and scoring two podiums. She finished seventh with 38 points.
2021 season
However, in the build-up to 2021, Peak Motorsport Canada withdrew from F3 Americas due to the financial troubles that had forced its associates Peak Aeroracing Engineering out of the ARWS the year prior. Summers sought refuge at Canadian upstarts Team Cascadia. Aware that her career was no longer secure owing to the state of her father's team, Summers drove her heart out for her third season in F3 Americas. She took four wins across the season, including a popular win in the wet from pole at her home race, the Canadian Tire Trophy, and one of the most astonishing junior series performances of the year at Curitiba, where she took home a grand chelem after dominating in torrid conditons. She won the championship with 95 points, 24 ahead of twice-runner-up Rinus VeeKay.
2022 season
Peak Motorsport bought Summers a seat in Indy Lights with Sentinel Motorsports. Despite decent performances, Summers was hit hard by the collapse of the Peak Motorsport Group. Just four rounds in, Peak's funding dried up. The carney management at Sentinel elected to replace her with the well-backed Curtis Hawking. Thinking of the video games that inspired her career, Summers retreated to the simracing scene. Notably, she won a race by one whole lap in the Grand Prix Rejects rFactor Championship under the pseudonym "SpeedingBeauty21" before being kicked out upon the discovery of Summers' (fairly obvious) identity.
2023 season
Funding did not return, and Summers was strongly contemplating a full-time campaign in the Formula One eSports Championship. However, Velocitas Racing, a team in the newly-formed AutoReject 3000 Series, offered her a lifeline. Thrilled at the prospect of returning to the tarmac, she accepted to race alongside Salva al-Bashir.
