Acuri Autosport, often shortened to Acuri, is a San Marino-based team competing in the F1RWRS, headed by former F1 driver Andrea Acuri. The team's debut was in the 2014 season.

Acuri established the team having had a long career in a variety of motorsport disciplines, including F1 and IndyCar. Having won the lottery in 2013, he formed the team from the winnings, with the intention of entering the F1RWRS for 2014. Whilst Andrea would drive one car, he required a second driver too that would bring sponsorship or money in order to maintain the team throughout the year.

F1RWRS

To partner Andrea at the team, Adrian Sutil was approached, with a view to the German bringing valuable funds to allow the team to improve over the year, but the former F1 driver snubbed Acuri's offer amid widespread criticism from sections of the press and the F1RWRS paddock about the viability of the move.

The team eventually signed Belgian Ron Mignolet as a pay-driver after he'd called the offices of the team having seen an ad in the classifieds section of a local San Marino newspaper.

Acuri's first chassis, to be used for the 2014 season, was titled the AFR01 and having signed a deal, along with Foxdale, to use Renault engines, the team's package was considered one of the strongest of the new teams entering the F1RWRS in 2014. This proved to be the case right from the first race of the season with both Acuri and Mignolet advancing through pre-qualifying comfortably, though only Mignolet actually qualified proper. In Acuri Autosport's first race, Mignolet drove well to give the team a solid 8th place finish, remarkably ahead of many established drivers such as Sammy Jones and Kay Lon. It was an ideal start to the year for the young San Marino team, which got even better as Mignolet went one better at the next race at Bathurst, finishing 5th and scoring the team's first ever points. Since then the team scored twice - a sixth in Mexico and a podium finish in Britain, all by Mignolet. Since then, the team gained four points, two in Belgium and two in Macau. Mignolet has since been signed by DGNgineering.

Acurigate

On October 1, 2014, after the Mediterranean GP, the teams' base at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, was ransacked and mugged. The method of break-in was reportedly easy, as the door was left unlocked at the end of the day. In the attack, a wheel gun, two car jacks, a fire suit, three fire hydrants, a crate of papayas and 200,000 euros were stolen from the base. Despite having to cut down budgets, Acuri trudged onwards.

A week later, the team was ransacked again. This time, the doors were locked but nonetheless, the Danish terrorists were able to break into both the front and back door of the base. Only 100,000 euros were stolen, and the team cut their budget even more. Three races passed and after the Chinese GP, the team went into bankruptcy protection, and changed their livery to accommodate more sponsors. As a result, this made Acuri very worthy of being taken over, and The Fox stepped in. First, he sold the rights to the ArrowTech name to Acuri, then he bought out the team for an unspecified amount. The team is now a part of ArrowTech ART, now known as ArrowTech-Acuri Autosport. The Fox also bought out the chassis and the engine for the 2015 season, with the team evantually using Renault engines for that year.
