Otto Stuppacher (born 3rd March 1947 in Vienna, Austria, died 13th August 2001 in Vienna, Austria) was an Austrian racing driver, famous for his appearances in Formula One.

Formula 1

1976

Stuppacher made his Formula One debut driving ÖASC Racing Team's Renzo powered March chassis, entering the Austrian, Dutch and Italian Grands Prix. The venture was a complete failure, with Stuppacher being over ten seconds off the pace on all three occasions.

1977

Despite his woeful showings in the previous year, Stuppacher unexpectedly gained a drive at the Wheatcroft Racing squad. He would fail to qualify for any of the five Grands Prix he entered. Following the British Grand Prix, Wheatcroft ran out of money, bringing Stuppacher's career to a premature yet overdue end.

Later Life and Death

Not much else was known of Stuppacher following his departure from Grand Prix racing.

Stuppacher was found dead in his Vienna flat in August 2001 at the age of 54.
