Nicolas Steele (born October 22, 1989 in Austin, Texas, USA) is a former American racing driver known for his career in the F1RWRS and its successor the ARWS. His best finish was second place on five separate occasions. Steele currently holds the record for the driver with most races, podiums and points scored without a win and has entered the fourth-highest number of races of any driver in F1RWRS/ARWS history. Having been replaced by Gregor Pascal at Blokkmonsta following the German GP, Steele is now one of the team's two test and reserve drivers, alongside Connor O'Heagan.

F1RWRS Career

Steele started his career with a bang by scoring in his debut race, a fifth position. However, he only started two more races, not qualfying for the rest of them. Steele was disqualified at Eastern Creek for careless driving after taking out John Zimmer and Hagane Shizuka (both recovered). Steele was fired after the season. He then signed for Pacchia-Coswojuddhartlambo, but that didn't last too long after the team only qualified for one race. He signed with Team Calinetic and raced three times.

For 2013 Steele re-signed with Calinetic but that didn't last long as he left the team after two races due to his teammate, David Koczo, being uncompetitive in pre-qualifying, while Steele nearly topped both charts. He signed with Kahama for the rest of the season, and has been resigned for 2014.

His rivalry with former teammate Jari Kekkonen was at it's peak in 2012 when the two were constantly bickering between each other, and trash talking. The rivalry has cooled but the two are not good friends.

His two podium positions early in the 2014 season have given him lots of interest in the paddock, but his handling of his engine failure in Adelaide gave him the nickname of "a complete James Allen". He did, manage two second podiums at Belgium and Italy later that year. He had a good position in the drivers' championship, but the car's unreliability cost him as he fell down the standings from 3rd. Despite this, Steele remained optimistic of the teams' potential in the near future, and signed a contract for the 2015 season.

However, the 2015 season went badly for him, only scoring one point in eleven races for Kamaha before being sacked. According to Steele, the car was undriveable and unreliable. He was picked up by DGNgineering for the last four races of the season, and managed to pick up a podium in Macau.

His good strings of results managed to get him signed to Aeroracing for the 2016 season. However, he was sacked after one race (despite placing in sixth position during the race) in favour of Kay Lon. Steele sat on the sidelines in the next race but managed to find a drive at Autodynamics Grand Prix. He impressed them (and the whole paddock) by posting two straight 4th place finishes at Italy and Austria.

After a fifth place finish in Long Beach, he disappointed the team by posting a DNPQ in Road America. Fortunes improved for the race at the Norisring, as Steele finished in ninth. But the best race of the season up to that point would be in Zandvoort, where he would benefit from a double DNF from Scuderia Alitalia to finish 2nd in an Autodynamics 1-2.
