The 2015 F1RWRS Australian Grand Prix was the second race in the 2015 F1RWRS season and the second of which to be held in Australia. The race was won by countryman Rhys Davies, who took his second consecutive win for Melrose Racing Team.

Pre-Qualifying

Ben Fleet topped the charts with a 1:46.850. Scuderia Alitalia thus advanced to qualifying proper, as well as Kingfisher Racing and Revolution DMS.

Qualifying

Ron Mignolet took his second straight pole position, with Rhys Davies second, Pippa Mann a surprising third, and David Neuberg from Kingfisher in fifth. Daniel Martins, after replacing Shinobu Katayama at Sunshine Motorsports after a dispute, got to 7th in qualifying. Mark Dagnall was nowhere to be seen and qualified 16th on the grid. The Stig and Ashley Watkinson did not qualify.

Race

Rhys Davies commanded the race from turn one and end of story when we talk about the win; the Australian veteran has started this season better than ever before and, if any MRT has a problem, it usually is Phillippe Nicolas car. Davies' drive was fantastic, he opened an enormous gap in the first half of the race and then he just made sure to keep enough for any possible trouble in the second part. Positive signs on DGNgineering team as well, it seems the urgent updates introduced for this race worked, and even though both drivers had electric issues, they drove fast to secure their first points this season. Specially impressive was Mark Dagnall, coming up from behind in a short lapse of laps and making overtakes practically at every possible passing place. Sammy Jones had a good drive as well and, after being passed by the Dagnall and Mignolet, he simply stayed out of trouble to place fourth. Douglas Mann also managed to score point in the Foxdale as well. Revolution drivers Gio van Dycke and Hagane Shizuka, went at a quick pace which would have been enough for Shizuka to be in the points if it hadn´t been for electrics.

Daniel Martins also did well, putting the car up to second place, but his spin, when he was running 6 seconds clear of the 3rd placed car, was a novice mistake and it has cost Sunshine much needed points. Aurelien Moll was just plain dull once again, as well as Barii Mori, who seemed to lose all motivation after losing his Front Wing. Seperate incidents involving Frank Zimmer, Nathan Scott and Rosco Vantini were avoidable. In fact Zimmer was hardly beaten by a brilliant Poppy Whitechapel, who just fell a bit too short of ending in the points. A fantastic desplay for the HRT female.
