The 1991 Scrub Era Formula 1 season is the second season in Aislabie's series, which picked up from the end of the real-life 1989 season. After the record-breakingly large field that contested the 1990 season, money was spread very thinly up and down the grid. The Championship was contested over sixteen events as usual, commencing on 14th April at the Brazilian Grand Prix and concluding on 10th November at the Australian Grand Prix. There was also the non-Championship Indoor Trophy event at the Bologna Motor Show that was held after the World Championship had been concluded.

- The Australian Grand Prix moved away from the Adelaide Street Circuit to a new oceanside venue at Surfers Paradise.
