Ziegler Auto Racing (or ZAR for short) is the Peak Motorsport Group's touring car team. They currently compete in the International Pro Car and SEAT Leon Supercopa series. They also used to compete in the F1 Rejects Super Touring Cup before it became defunct in the middle of the 2016-17 season.

History

Owned by driver Alvin Ziegler, the team was formerly known as High Performance Racing, and was based out of Auckland, New Zealand. Ziegler bought the team in December 2016 off Dominic Spearman, Raymond Douglas and Craig Harris. Ziegler moved the team's workshop and HQ to Berlin in his native Germany. It came under the control of the Peak Motorsport Group at the beginning of 2017 due to the High Performance Group-PMG merger.

Current operations

IPC

ZAR has entered the rebranded Rejects Touring Car Championship (AutoReject Super Touring) for 2017 with owner-driver Ziegler running in the #03 and Scottish ace Julian Clark in the #23. Julian's brother Ross Clark replaced Ziegler from the Round of the United Kingdom to the Round of Spain. It was then announced that Steven Mackintosh would drive the #03 in the North American rounds, the Round of South Africa, and the Asian rounds at Hong Kong and Japan. Ziegler would return for the Round of the Czech Republic, as would Ross Clark for the Rounds of Italy and Belgium.

The team competes under the DHL Ziegler Auto Racing banner due to sponsorship reasons and has a customer car deal with Restov Racing for two BMW M3's.

In 2018, the team remained in the now International Pro Car series. Cecep Sugiharto would join the team in the #10 with Clark staying in the #23.

SEAT Leon Supercopa

High Performance Racing entered the 2016 Lupo GTI Championship season with Kristina Harris in the #23 Harris Finance Racing Lupo for rounds 5-7. Kristina was joined by her younger sister Kaitlyn in the #24 for the non-championship rounds. Another two cars were entered at the Groningen NC round, under the John Deere Racing moniker for rookie Angelica Lopez (#32) and RRT refugee Hugo Carvalho (#33).

For 2017, the team was rebranded as Harris Finance ZAR and competes under a dual German/Kiwi license. Two cars have been fielded for Kaitlyn Harris and Romain Hadamard, a Frenchman who replaces Kristina as she moves to ARST with the Vermillion Automotive Collective. The numbers #23 and #24 were retained, but Kaitlyn moved across to the #23.

In 2018, the driver lineup was retained as the series changed to SEAT Leon vehicles.

F1RSTC

ZAR, then known as High Performance Racing, entered the 2016-17 F1 Rejects Super Touring Cup with two cars, the #23 and the #33. Julian Clark and Alvin Ziegler were the two drivers nominated to drive the #23 and #33 respectively. Verna Klien replaced Ziegler for the Round of Durham Tees.

Catalina Zhang was to replace Clark for the rest of the season starting at Round 5 in Luxembourg, but the series collapsed before Round 4 at Keimola Aerodrome, Finland.
