Career

Life GP Series

Roberts had competed in Australian national-level open wheel racing for a number of years, mostly in Formula 3, but also in the Australian Formula 2 series, with moderate success. He became involved in the Life GP Series after buying a stake in the HURT Racing team mid way through 1991, and he eventually became the team's driver mid way through 1991. He scored 7 podiums in his tenure in the series, which lasted until the end of the 1993 season. His best finishes were two 2nd place finishes in the 1991 US Grand Prix West and the 1992 Czech Grand Prix. He retired from the championship at the end of 1993, although he maintained his 50% stake in the team.

After Life GP

Will returned to Australia, and competed in Formula Holden for a single season before retiring for a couple of seasons. He then bought a BMW 318i and competed in the Australian Super Touring championship through to the end of the 1999 season. In 2000 he co-drove a Holden Commodore VS in the Bathurst 1000, his only appearance in V8 Supercars. Will then retired from professional racing.
