Klaus Ludwig
Klaus Ludwig (born 5 September 1949 in Bonn, West Germany) is a German semi-retired racing driver.
He is considered one of the finest racing drivers from Germany, having competed in Formula One, having won multiple touring car championships throughout his career as well as winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans on three occasions.
Formula One
Ludwig made his Formula One debut in 1978, driving for the Willi Kauhsen Racing Team alongside Anne Schröder in a part season effort.

1988-: Zakspeed
Ludwig joined the newly formed World Touring Car Masters in 1988, racing a Ford Sierra RS500 for Zakspeed alongside fellow German Manuel Reuter. Despite not taking a class win all season, Ludwig finished the season in fifth place in Class A, the best of the non-works Ford drivers.
The following year, Zakspeed beat out Andy Rouse's team and were awarded the works Ford contract, meaning Ludwig and Reuter were joined by Kaliber ICS refugee Roland Ratzenberger and WTCM debutant Frank Biela. With access to the more powerful works package, Ludwig took six class wins on his way to second in the championship - only narrowly beaten by teammate Ratzenberger.
In 1990, Ludwig and Zakspeed continued their strong form - taking two wins on his way to fourth overall as teammate Reuter took the championship at a canter.
Development was key during 1991 as the series had moved into a new ruleset called Super Touring. The new rules restricted teams to two cars only barring a few races meaning Ludwig was named Ford's development driver for their new Sierra Sapphire model.
