Derek Daly

Derek Patrick Daly (born 11th March, 1953 in Ballinteer, Co. Dublin) is an Irish-American former racing driver.


Daly made his Formula One debut in 1979 driving for Essex Team Lotus at the Austrian and Italian Grands Prix whilst regular driver Jody Scheckter was ruled out with an injury. On his debut, Daly scored a fourth place finish.

In 1991, Daly was signed up by the works Nissan Janspeed team to take part in the World Touring Car Masters series alongside Kieth O'dor.
