Judd is a British engineering company based in Rugby, Warwickshire best known for their racing engines which have been used in Formula One, Sportscars and other series.

History

Judd first came into Formula One in 1988 when they began supplying the Ligier team.

The following season, Judd became the supplier of choice for more teams than any other manufacturer with AGS, BMS Scuderia Italia, Coloni, March, Minardi and Osella joining Ligier as customers. Minardi managed to score Judd's first podium when Pierluigi Martini took third in the season opening Brazlian Grand Prix.

1990 saw several teams abandon Judd, with only AGS, BMS Scuderia Italia and Osella sticking with them for a second season.
