Helmut Niedermayr (born 29 November 1915 in Munich, died 3 April 1985 in Christiansted, Saint Croix, United States Virgin Islands) was a German racing driver. A promising privateer in the early 1950s, Niedermayr finished second in the 1952 24 Hours of Le Mans with Theo Helfrich, before competing in the 1952 German Grand Prix for Fritz Riess. This rise was interrupted by a major accident at the Grenzlandring which killed over 12 spectators. His career continued until 1956, but he never truly recovered. He made further attempts at Formula One with occasional appearances for German teams, without success.
