However, on lap 74, teammate [[Robert Manzon]]'s engine failed, spraying oil on the circuit at Maggotts. Yves lost control on the oil, was sent barrell-rolling and was ejected from the car. At the start of the Formula One championship, he drove for Ecurie Nationale Belge before moving to the expanded Alexander Racing Team along with Consalvo Sanesi.
