The 2016 Aston 12 Hours will be the second running of the prestigious endurance race held on the Aston Historic course on November 10-13. The race was shortened from the original 24-hour length due to concerns over the English weather and relative lack of action in last year's race. For the first time, the winner of the event will receive an automatic entry into the 2017 running of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The race was won by Mobil Racing ZimSport, who fielded Frank Zimmer, Pieter Kickert and Henrik Dehn as their drivers. It was also unusual in that 5 cars were disqualified for multiple stop-go penalties, all of them FXRs.
