Hermano or Hernando João "Nano" da Silva Ramos (born 7 December 1925 in Paris, France) is a Brazilian former racing driver with French dual nationality. Beginning his racing career in 1947, he started gaining notoriety in 1953 and early 1954, leading to a drive for Gordini. He won his third race, the 1954 Belgian Grand Prix, ultimately finishing fourth that season. The following year, he surprisingly signed for Bernie Ecclestone's team, but was soon fired. Promptly signing for Renzo then Ferrari, the results dried up and he was left without a drive. In 1957, he returned to Gordini, replacing the late Eugenio Castellotti. However, this would be as part of a rotation with Harry Schell, Redmond Gallagher and others, with Ramos not performing well enough to justify a full-time position.
With Gordini leaving the sport at the end of 1957 and the team being sold to Voeckler, Rmos found himself without a drive. A new home was found at Scuderia Centro Sud for 1958 and in his second start for the Italian squad Ramos delivered a second place finish at an attrition-hit French Grand Prix. However, the race would also be marred with tragedy as Giulio Cabianca sadly lost his life during the event. Shortly after the race, Ramos would be called up to replace Cabianca at the works O.S.C.A. squad, thanks to the partnership between them and Centro Sud.
Due to the unusual race stoppages in the 1955 Soviet Grand Prix and his ties with Ferrari by that point, Ramos has the distinction of being the only Formula 1 driver to have driven three different cars in the same race. He also scored two pole positions and two fastest laps.
