Toni Jefferson

Anthony "Toni" Jefferson (born January 16, 1975 in Seattle, Washington, United States) is a racing driver from the United States who was Super Aguri's Friday test driver for 2006.

Early career

Jefferson started karting in 1991 and then he progressed to various SCCA-organized series before heading to Indy Lights in 1997. Jefferson debuted in CART in 2003, debuting with Fittipaldi-Dingman Racing for that year, with Tiago Monteiro as his teammate. He moved to Herdez Competition in 2004 when Fittipaldi-Dingman left Champ Car, securing three podiums. He moved again to RuSPORT in 2005, with he having some peak performances of the year. He quit the series at the end of the year and cited the series' politics as the reason.

Formula One

2006: Super Aguri

Despite rumors that he was going for NASCAR, Jefferson instead went to Formula One. He signed as Super Aguri's Friday test driver after obtaining a superlicense after the FIA members unanimously agreed on the issuing of his superlicense, after his initial request for super license were initially denied. He completed a 300-km test on January 2006 with the team.
