Nicolas Hülkenberg (born 19th August, 1987 in Emmerich am Rhein, West Germany) is a German racing driver best known for his appearances in Formula One.

Formula One

Hülkenberg made his Formula One debut in 2009 when he took over the lead Prodrive seat from Darren Older, Jr. at the Belgian Grand Prix. Hülkenberg retired from the race, which coincidentally was the last race for Prodrive before the team filed for administration and withdrew.

Hülkenberg was only briefly out of a drive and he managed to take the lead Renault drive from Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen for the remainder of the season. The German scored a best result of sixth place in that year's Uruguayan Grand Prix which was enough for 19th place overall.

Despite his steady finish to the season, Hülkenberg found himself on the sidelines in 2010 - his sole appearances coming when Williams required him for three races due to driver bans - his best result once again being a sixth place.
