Kevin Cogan (born 31st March 1956 in Culver City, California) is a Formula One driver who drove for Alfa Romeo in 1980.

Before Formula One

Much of Kevin Cogan's early success came in Formula Atlantic, where he finished second in the championship in 1979. He also achieved a third-placed result in the 1978 Macau Grand Prix, which earmarked him as an exciting talent. In 1980, he moved to the Aurora Formula One series before being called up as an injury replacement in the World Championship.

Formula One Career

After an injury sustained at the British Grand Prix ruled out Elio de Angelis for four races, the Alfa Romeo team used a variety of drivers as a stand-in for the Italian. At the Canadian Grand Prix, the team brought in Cogan as they believed he would be familiar with the circuit.
