Jim Rigsby

James "Jim" Rigsby (born 6 June 1923 in Spadry, died 31 August 1952 in Dayton) was an American racing driver. Mostly competing in sprint cars, he first appeared in the AAA National Championship at the 1950 Indianapolis 500, also considered a World Championship event. Driving a Maserati, he qualified for the race and finished in ninth position. Over the following two years, he steadily accrued experience, scoring two top-five finishes in 1952 before his life was tragically cut short in a sprint car accident in Dayton, Ohio. Rigsby was 29.
