Jaroslav Vlček

Jaroslav Vlček (born c. 1908 in Prague) was a Czechoslovakian racing driver and constructor. Vlček founded his own car company Magda in 1936, named after his wife. Under the communist government after World War II, he and his cars became notable contenders on the Czechoslovakian racing scene, competing in the 1949 Czechoslovakian Grand Prix to Formula 1 rules. He continued to race and develop cars throughout the 1950s, and competed in both the 1955 Soviet Grand Prix and 1956 East German Grand Prix driving for his compatriot Julius Kubinsky. Seriously injured in the latter race, he focused on engineering, developing Formula 3 cars that were raced by his son Miloš.
